Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! I'm excited that to get to know the new faces in the class and to reunited with my returning yearbook students.
This is our class blog that we'll be using to "discuss" various class and journalism related issues. Be sure to bookmark the address on your computer or write down the address in a safe place. You'll use it frequently.
Here's the ground rules for the blog.
1. Set up your account so that your name (first name and last initial is enough) shows when you enter a comment. Grades will not be given to anomyous posts.
2. Enter your comment on time. A deadline is a deadline. The only exceptions will be when your absent.
3. Even though this is online writing, use correct, standard English. I expect complete sentences with punctuation, correct spelling and grammar.
4. Read the comments that others leave after I approve them. Many times I'll ask you to respond to someone's comment.
5. Respect the ideas and opinions of others.
With that being said, please respond to this question in the comments section. What was the most comical moment from your summer break? For me, it was watching my mother-in-law's three hour attempt to make coffee over an open flame while on a camping trip. :)
Due Date: Beginning of class on Friday, August 20.
For me, the most comical part of my summer was going to Justin Bieber's concert and his pants fell down on stage.
ReplyDeleteThe most comical moment of the summer for me was when i was sleeping in my dorm and was woken from a deep sleep because of a noise. At that moment I thought someone was shot (I was still half asleep), and so I woke up my roommate and was freaking out. Turns out it was just the RA's running up and down the hall screeching and pretending to be raptors.....my roommate couldn't stop laughing at me the next morning
ReplyDeleteFor me, it was putting icy hot on all on all of the toliets and on all the deoterant while in TN on a trip and hearing them complain about 'being on fire' the next day :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of my best friends Robert Bender and his girlfriend Kayla and I hung out one night over the summer, we went to the mall and saw a movie and then went to get ice cream, and then we went and hung out at his house for a while, and when I decided to go home it was like one thirty in the morning and the door was locked, so I had to crawl through my brother's bedroom window. It's not hilarious but it was entertaining.
ReplyDeleteMy Father has a false front tooth because of a basball incident when he was younger. His tooth has been loose for about a year now, but he didn't want to go get it fixed. My family and I went to the beach over the summer. One day my dad was riding the waves, and his tooth fell out. His tooth is now at the bottom of the ocean somewhere in Florida. :D
ReplyDeleteThe most comical moment during my summer was not really from my perspective, it would have been from someone watching me and my friends one night toward the end of the summer. Me and two friends met up at McDonald's and had some dinner and just talked about what was up, but after dinner we went to Speedway and got energy drinks. Before even buying the drinks, we were already hyper and laughing really hard just from being with each other. We then proceeded to my house, and then walked up to another friends house where we stood outside and just kept telling one joke after another. From the perspective of the friend who's house we walked to, we just looked out of control and crazy. It was awesome. (:
ReplyDeleteThe most comical moment of my summer was when my friends and I went to the bowling alley. We dressed with silly accessories, like my tiara and Megan's 3D glasses. The boys brought pizza from Dominoes, which we tried to take into Snappy Tomato's to sit down and eat, but obviously this was not allowed and we were rudely told to leave. Of course, this would be the day that the manager was grumpy and made us leave because we were "loitering," which has surprisingly never happened to us. We quickly gobbled down our pizza, and left to go to the Dollar General, where we bought candy, drinks, and leis. Afterwards, we paid to bowl, but spent more time having fake engagements with ring pops. It was certainly a fun night. (:

After graduation Coty wanted to go bowling, So of course he wears his track shorts. He was the first one and when he went to bowl he slid halfway down the lane making the buzzer go off. Everyone was staring.
ReplyDeleteThe most comical moment of my summer break would have to be at my grandparent's house when my mom and I visited. One evening, my grandpa wanted to take us out to eat for dinner at a local Chinese restaurant, but he hadn't told anyone of his plans. He kept glancing at the clock which helped us to realize there was something he wanted to do. After a time, he announced to us that he had to go put on his "fru-fru juice" (which we soon found to be aftershave) and then he would be ready to take us out to eat. Every time I think of my grandpa now, all I can do is envision him and his "fru-fru juice". He tickles me to pieces.

The most comical moment from my summer break was when I went tubing at Lake Barkeley with my best friend and her family. On my last turn, I stayed balanced for several minutes before I realized I was stuck in the tube. I was really scared I was going to flip over and drown. Once the boat stopped, I wiggled around for about 10 minutes trying to unstick myself from the tube, but failed. I finally had to be pulled onto the boat, tube and all, where it took several more minutes before I got out. My friend and her whole family laughed at me, because nobody, including myself, can figure out how I managed to get stuck in the tube.
ReplyDeletewhen I was at 4H teen conference, I spilled orange pop on the floor. After cleaning my mess, I put the paper towels on the desk and left the room. When we came back in the room later there were ants all around the paper towels. I took a packet of paper, rolled it up, and slammed it down on the ants over and over, making wierd noises and talking to them. It was crazy!
ReplyDeleteThe most comical moment of my summer was when my sister and I went for a walk and fluttered down close to us momentarily suspended in front of us. My sister is deathly afraid of birds so as soon as she saw it she ran screaming up the street.I laughed all the way home.
ReplyDeleteBy far my most commical moment of the summer was when I was visiting my friends in Georgia and they were trying to teach me and my friend Sarah to Jerk. She could on;y do it backwards and I am just completely musicly untalented.
ReplyDeleteThis is a test to make sure I can do it.
ReplyDeleteThe most comical part of my summer was having to translate for a co-worker to my boss. My co-worker is from Guatemala, so my boss asked me to translate, what I thought would be a simple question, to him. When I started to tell my boss what my co-worker said, I realized that she was telling him another co-worker threw buns in her face, threatened to kill her, and said many other choice words. It wasn't neccessarily funny that these things occured, but that I had to repeat these 'said words' to my boss.

Thissummer i went to the lake house with my best friend Julia Rusch and her family. and the day after we got there on the hottest weekend i`ve ever experianced we went cliff jumping and i finally got to the top where evryone was jumping off of and i literally just sat down... It was terrifying, her cousins tried to drag me off or they sat there and taunted me thinking that I wold get intimidated and finally jump then I got up the courage to literally live on the edge. i then stood there practically petrified then i jumped... i got to the bottom having an adreniline rush and said,"OH MY GOSH!!! I just made a Bellea! i saw Edward!!! I as well as her whole family just burst out laughing. I then realized that it wasn`t that scary it was a life changing experiance that won`t be fogotten.
ReplyDeleteNothing really funny happened to me this summer.
ReplyDeleteMy most commical moment of summer was when i was at logans with family and my aunt said some stupid things...i was taking a sip of pepsi and it came out of not only my mouth but also my nose and all over our food! That night was loads of fun! We were so stupid!
ReplyDeleteThe most comical part of my summer was when I was teaching my 3 year neighbor old the story of the boy that cried wolf and why you don't pretend like something is happening when it's really not. As soon as i was finished telling the story, she yelled "IT'S A WOLF! I SEE A WOLF!" :)
ReplyDeleteI sleep walk, and one night this summer i was staying the night at my dads and woke up in the laundry room(which is connected to the kitchen). My dad was making breakfast when i woke up, completly ignoring the fact that i was paased out on the floor. So i just sat up waiting for him to tell me what happened. and he just looked at me, and said "the waffles are in the dryer." and then went on to tell me i got up around 2:00 in the morning and staring looking for waffles, in the dryer. When i could not find any i got really angry and just decided to pass out on the laundry room floor. I couldnt stop laughing all day. -Jessica Forman
